Is your mind stuck on repeat?

There’s More to Your Worries Than You Think… 🧠

Are you caught in a cycle of relentless thoughts or repetitive actions? Do you find yourself overwhelmed by a constant need to check, research on Google, organize, or get reassurance? These might be signs of OCD—an invisible force controlling your daily life. But here’s the thing: there’s help. As a specialist in OCD, I can help you understand these patterns and take back control.

Don’t let your mind keep you in a loop.

Stress is at the heart of so many sleepless nights, lost opportunities, and failed relationships. Worry can eat away at your self-esteem and cause you to feel like an imposter in your own life.

Trail walking with Erin Davis, anxiety therapist and OCD specialist.

Even when you have a good support system, friends and family who love you, people in your corner who think the world of you… when you feel like you don’t have it “all together” it eats away at your happiness.

And the thing about worry is that it doesn’t magically go away. It will linger in your life until you learn the skills to cope with your unwelcome thoughts.

OCD can be even more persistent.

Both obsessions and compulsions are like an old friend...

only OCD is more like the friend who shows up uninvited and stays long after the party has ended.

Most people share how they have had a mental tug-of-war with their thoughts for as long as they can remember. Their OCD is sinister and sneaky. And their self-talk is vicious; instead of an inner voice that’s supportive & compassionate, their inner voices says things like:

“you’ll never get it right” or

“you messed up again” or

“you’ll never find a great job, loving partner, life-long friend” and worse.

OCD can rob you of your peace,

your perspective,

and the truth.

Instead of seeing yourself as worthy of happiness, you see yourself as a failure, unlovable, or unworthy.

My question to you is:

if you saw this battle raging in your child’s life, how would you react?

One of the first steps in loving yourself is to see yourself the way your best friend sees you.

And if you can’t yet feel that, consider how your mom or your chosen family sees you.

The honest truth about who you are is what is taken from you when OCD rules over your thinking.

And this is what I can help you resolve.

What is OCD?

What is OCD?

Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) brings chronic, persistent worries about life and the people you love.

It feels like you can’t “let things go.” There are unanswered questions, unmet needs or unmanaged consequences.

Many people feel stress in their bodies. Stomach pains, headaches, muscle and body aches that arise when you start thinking about something you’re worried about, may sound familiar.

OCD is on a different level than general anxiety and normal stress. OCD can include fixations, obsessions, & compulsions that are hard to manage. The cycle of obsessions & compulsions often requires your attention even when you know they are not helping you live a happy life.

OCD requires specialized skills and care to manage.

The good news is you can get to the heart of challenges like this in OCD treatment.
I offer in-person therapy at my practice in Taylorsville, NC & online therapy for those located in North Carolina and Virginia.

OCD SPECIALIZATIONS

Experienced in treating fear of vomiting (emetophobia), religious OCD (scrupulosity), relationship OCD, harm OCD, suicide OCD, and more.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR TEENS

Teenage girls experience a ton of challenges that can cause their worry to rise. From boys, to relationships, friendships and grades, going from being a girl to being a young woman is a big step. Many teens need support to navigate all that life brings their way. Unhelpful self-talk for girls has been on the rise for a long time, so if your daughter is having “sticky thoughts that don’t go away,” she’s certainly not alone & I can help her.

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Women, moms, and college students face immense pressures and challenges in today’s world. Balancing work, family, college, and life’s unexpected twists can be overwhelming. Whether you're navigating a full-time job, parenting, juggling college or preparing for what’s next. And trying to anticipate the future is a natural reaction to prepare for what’s coming next. I can help you with this too.

WALK AND TALK THERAPY

Sometimes talking is the opposite of what a person with OCD wants to do. This is a great way to get movement and “unlock” parts that you wouldn’t normally share in an office. To help you, I offer walk-and-talk therapy at parks near Taylorsville, NC like Rocky Face Mountain and Matheson Park!

ANIMAL-ASSISTED THERAPY

Have you ever wondered why being around a kind, supportive animal feels like comfort food for your heart? There’s a special connection between being around a loving pet & your mental health. Rosie is a hypoallergenic labradoodle who would love to snuggle up next to you or simply sit at your feet.

ONLINE THERAPY IN NORTH CAROLINA & VIRGINIA

Therapy doesn’t have to happen in the office or even in the same place. My OCD practice extends to anyone in North Carolina and Virginia! Online therapy is a great timesaver for women with long commutes, class schedules, and busy lives. Let’s join up on your lunch break!

A little bit about
your therapist…

Erin Davis with her husband

I’m Erin Davis, a Licensed Mental Health Therapist in NC & VA. I’m also a mom of three boys, wife, dog momma, & lover of a great walk outside!

My clinical practice started in 2011. When first starting my work as a mental health therapist, I noticed how so many clients were struggling with “anxiety” & had tried therapy with other therapists, without success.

When listening deeper to their stories, these patients had untreated, undiagnosed OCD. Through specialized training, compassion, and that trust factor, my clients got better. Not only did they get better, they got their life back!

These were the moments I had dreamed of as a helping professional, to help you make life-long changes.

You deserve it.
